Choosing Fidelity vs Performance in Hogwarts Legacy
Ultimately, this decision comes down to your preferences when playing the game. These options vary, giving you the chance to sacrifice graphics for performance, or vice-versa.
If your top priority is a smoother gameplay experience, your best bet is to select performance. Alternatively, if you are less concerned with performance and are here for the beautiful gameplay, fidelity is the best option for you. Fidelity comes with up to 4k resolution, but at the price of roughly half the frames per second of the Performance setting.
We Chose Performance
In our game, we opted for performance over gameplay. Since we are playing on X-box, the choice may not make much difference. The reality is that the graphics are stunning whether you play in 4k or 1080p resolution. While we opted to focus on improved framerate, it never felt like we were forced to give up any quality. Your mileage may vary on this, so you should try out both to see what works for you.
