Where to Find the Vine Bow in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Assassin's Creed Odyssey vine bow

If you’re anything like me, you are a big fan of sniping mercenaries from a distance with a bow in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Some of the baddies in this game deal a lot of damage up close, but you can reliably kill things from range once you polish up your archery skills. That said, having the right now is an important part of the equation! That’s where the Vine Bow comes in. The Vine Bow is one of our favorite bows in the game, and it’s not hard to pick up if you know where to look. To get the scoop on how to unlock the vine bow in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, keep reading below!

Although the greenery on this bow represents life, it can be counted upon to bring death.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Vine Bow Guide

The bow itself is powerful, and it has some fairly unique perks. It’s not the most powerful by any means, but worth keeping around if you come across it.

The Vine Bow

Status: Legendary
+15% Hunter Damage
+15% with Bows in Distant Targets
+25 Hunter Damage but -15% Armor

What is special about this bow is the fact that it is noticeably stronger from a distance. It is one of the only bows in the game that applies a buff for long range sniping, which is useful. It also has a double buff to Hunter Damage, which allows you to pile on the DPS. The drawback of this bow is that the second Hunter Damage bonus also comes with a -15% reduction in your armor. This doesn’t exactly turn you into a glass cannon, but in some fights 15% armor can make the difference. This just solidifies the Vine Bow’s role as a long-range sniping weapon. If you find yourself in a closed-quarters brawl with this bow, something has gone wrong.

How to Unlock Vine Bow in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Unlike many bows, you won’t need to complete a certain mission or loot a certain chest to obtain the Vine Bow. Likewise, unlike some legendary weapons (like Hades’ Bow) you won’t find the Vine Bow after defeating a certain mercenary. There are two ways you can get this legendary weapon, and both of them rely heavily on chance.

Your first chance to get the bow is by purchasing it from Oikos of the Olympians. This unique seller has a small array of rare items for sale at any given time. But unlike every other merchant, you can only purchase his wares with Orichalcum Ore. To acquire this ore you will need to complete quests that are marked with the purple Orichalcum logo. These can be found at most message boards and usually come in the form of bounty missions. Once you acquire enough ore, go see Oikos. He can be found at Pilgrim’s Landing in Phokis.

Unfortunately, Oikos changes his ware weekly and you are at this whims. Check back often to see if the Vine Bow is for sale.

The second option for acquiring the Vine Bow is by competing in and winning the Olympics. You will be given a random legendary prize at the end of the event, and frequently that prize is the Vine Bow. While this is your best chance of getting the bow without farming Orichalcum Ore, there is no guarantee that you will get the result you are hoping for.
