Hades’s Bow

Required Level: 44
Class: Legendary
+15% Warrior Damage
+20% Fire Damage
Basic Arrows become Fire Arrows

Hades’s Bow is one of my favorite bows in the game. It reminds me of the Dagger of Kronos in a way; it bonuses fire damage AND turns all of your damage into – wait for it – FIRE DAMAGE. How convenient is that? In addition,  you also get +15% Warrior Damage which make the damage output on Hades’s Bow fantastic.

Where to find the Hades’s Bow in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Unlike many excellent weapons (like the Spear of Kephalos), you don’t need to complete any quests to get the Hades’s Bow. The bow is carried by a specific mercenary. You will need only to kill that mercenary to obtain the bow. The mercenary will have a different first name in each game, but his nickname is always “Of the Ashen Wake.”

The mercenary will begin to appear once you hit level 44. There is no way of knowing where the mercenary might show up. If you don’t want to wait and see if you stumble upon “Of The Ashen Wake” mercenary, your best bet is to ramp up your Bounty Level. The higher the bounty level, the more mercenaries are going to try and seek you out. So intentionally jacking up your Bounty Level will make it more likely that “Of the Ashen Wake” comes to you.

Increasing Your Bounty Level

There are a few ways you can easily inflate your Bounty Level. The first is by simply murdering civilians in broad daylight. You’ll need to be sure there are witnesses, but that will quickly get your bounty level up. You can also assassinate the Nation Leader. This single kill will get you a big bump in your Bounty Level. Sinking ships at sea is another option. Even when the other ship aggresses you, if you send their boat to the bottom of the ocean you can expect the survivors to place bounties on your head.

How to Unlock the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Hades’s Bow

Assassin's Creed Odyssey Hades's BowOnce you kill your “Of The Ashen Wake” mercenary, you need only loot the body to snag Hades’s Bow. You’ll need to be level 44 to use it, but that shouldn’t be an issue since the mercenary won’t appear until level 44 or later. The battle isn’t overly difficult; the mercenary is an archer that will try to shoot fire arrows at you from range. If you can close the distance it usually isn’t difficult to overwhelm him with damage.
