Sekiro Shadows Die Twice Lady Butterfly Guide
To take down Lady Butterfly, you’ll need to head to Hirata Estate. The nearest fast travel point is at the Hirata Audience Chamber.
As soon as you enter the atrium, a cut scene will hit. There is little time before the fight commences, and as soon as the cut scene ends she will launch kunais at you. She is dangerous at range, so you will want to close the distance. Make use of the pillars in the room to stay away from her ranged attacks. She will move closer, so keep pillars between you and her until she closes in.
Once she closes in, strike her as much as you can while keeping an eye out for her attacks. When she begins her abilities, be ready to parry. You can also use Whirlwind Combat Art to wear her down over time. You can usually land multiple slashes at once, but don’t overcommit. She can do serious damage, so always be ready to parry.
An important tip is to watch her sword when she blocks your attacks. Each time she blocks, sparks will fly from your sword. When those sparks grow brighter, she is about to counterattack. Be ready to parry those attacks; if you are successful you can keep the stagger going.
Lady Butterfly also has a powerful sweep ability. If a red icon appears over your head, the sweep attack is coming. This is actually a great opportunity for you to deal stagger damage by jumping and kicking off of her head. When you deal enough damage, the first part of this fight completes.
In the second part of the fight, she has an additional ability that allows her to launch projectile butterflies at you. This attack can be severe, but you can dodge it by outrunning the projectiles or hiding behind pillars. Keep applying damage and finisher her off when you get the chance.
Obtaining The Phantom Lady Butterfly Achievement
There are tons of achievements in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. But one relates directly to the battle with Lady Butterfly, and can be obtained simply by defeating her. The achievement, known as The Phantom Lady Butterfly, is completed as soon as Lady Butterfly is defeated in battle.
