Feeling famished after a long day of piracy in Atlas? It’s not as simple as just grabbing an animal and taking a chomp. You’ll need to cook any meat or food before you can eat it. Luckily, it’s a simple process. Keep reading out Atlas How to Cook Meat and Food Guide here at Nerds and Scoundrels to get the whole picture.

Atlas How to Cook Meat and Food

The cooking system in Atlas is essentially the same as Ark: Evolved. Not familiar with that system? You’ve come to the right place! To start, you’ll need the food you plan on cooking up. (Shocking, right?) To cook meat, you’ll first need to kill an animal. Once you kill your next meal, you’ll need to harvest the meat from the carcass in order to cook it. To do that, use a pickaxe or hatchet on the carcass until all of the meat is harvested.

How to Cook Meat

Once you have harvested your meat and fish, you’ll need somewhere to do the cooking. That’s where the campfire comes in. TO cook the food, open the fire’s inventory by pressing E. From there, drag the meat into the inventory to start cooking. The food will finish cooking in the order it is put on the fire.

Don’t forget, your fire will also need fuel. The obvious choice is wood, which is common on each of the starting islands. When you initially build your fire, it is recommended that you start with 20-30 logs. For most cooking, that will be more than enough fuel to last you until your food is fully cooked.

Finally, be vigilant with your cooking fires. Another player can access whatever is in your fire, meaning they can steal your food from right under your nose. This is possible on both PVP and PVE servers!
