If you are just getting into The Office (one of our favorites of all time!) the awkward romance during the early seasons between Michael Scott and Jan are one of the real highlights for the show. One of the best moments, of course, involved (SPOILERS!) Michael spilling the beans that he had taken Jan to Sandals Jamaica after Carol broke up with him. Michael needs a cover story, and Urkel Grue is born. Nerds and Scoundrels breaks it down for you.
Urkel Grue – Who is that?
When Michael returns from Sandals Jamaica, he is quick to brag about his trip to his employees. But when he shows them photos of his vacation there unintended consequences as Pam recognizes Jan in the background of one of those photos.
Michael’s problems are only complicated when he accidentally sends a revealing photo of Jan from the Sandals trip to the rest of the office. After a failed attempt at having the e-mail recalled by Darrell, Michael addresses the office in the gif above. Unfortunately, no one was buying his Urkel Grue story. Despite these brief mentions in a single episode of the Office, there are frequent questions about the “Urkel Grue” character which inspired us to write about it!
