Red Dead Redemption 2 Americans at Rest Walkthrough
This quest begins while you are visiting the lovely little town of Valentine. And it’s aptly named; when you head into the saloon you’ll notice your pal Javier Escuella chatting with what appears to be two prostitutes. Approaching Javier will activate the mission. Chat with Javier and he will introduce you to the ladies. Unfortunately, your upfront approach to these prostitutes and their price structure offends them, causing them to leave. Before Javier can get upset, your pal Bill (the guy best known for screwing up the explosives in Who the Hell is Leviticus Cornwall?) comes tumbling into the front door of the saloon. Bill and a patron collide, and the inevitable bar brawl ensues. You and your buddies are outnumbered 2 to 1 in this fight by the local yokels; in other words, they’re at a distinct disadvantage.
Fight Strategy
This fight isn’t particularly taxing, but you do want to avoid getting overwhelmed. The guys you are fighting are decent at blocking and defense, so if you just come in winging punches you’re going to have a bad time. The best bet is to sit back and play defense. Block punches and counterpunch, wearing your foes down. The best way to finish them off is through grappling and choking them. When you’ve nearly finished the fight, you’ll hear a commotion coming from upstairs. The bartender yells “No, Tommy, stay out of this!” But the big, sweaty Tommy doesn’t appear to have any plans to do so.
Tommy
Tommy makes it clear he has no intention of staying out of it. He jumps onto the fray to fight against you and your crew. Tommy goes after Javier, and before you can help him one of the bar patrons breaks a chair over your back and grabs you around your arms. You can break free with a little button spam, and now its time to go bail Javier out. Unfortuntely, pulling Tommy off of your friend earns you the wrath of the big man instead. Tommy hurls you across the table and then through the window into the street. We’re hitting all of the western movie bar fight tropes tonight, baby!
In the street, the fight boils down to a one on one with you and the big guy. Eventually, either get him to the ground yourself or roll him off of you and onto your back. Once you start laying a beating on him, a man in the crowd will beg you to stop. Eventually you reconvene with your mates on the front porch of the general store when Dutch and a man in a top hat show up. The man tells Dutch that your fellow gang member Sean is still in Blackwater, being held by Pinkertons that want to ransom him to the government. After the cut scene, your mission ends.
