Acquiring Animal Companion
Animal Companion is a Class Feature that many of the classes in the game can acquire. Usually accessed by classes that have an affinity with nature: so Druids, Hunters, Monks and Nomads can access this Feature as well as many other similar classes.
What does Animal Companion Do?
This is a Feature that can easily be one of the most important abilities in your build. Particularly if you like to have pets that can help you out in battle. Animal Companion grants a special buff to your pet that includes +2 in natural armor and +1 to Str/Dex. The best part is that – after every 3rd level up – the buffs provided by Animal Companion increase by +2 and +1. This will cap out once the buffs have reached +14 natural armor and +7 Str/Dex which should be when you reach level 18.
The benefits that this can make to your overall party setup is clear to see and it makes this ability a great one to make use of. Plus, since animals don’t take up a character slot in the party, you can technically make use of a seventh character that can potentially deal a lot of damage. If you’re a character that can make use of the Animal Companion Feature, it’s really in your best interest to start travelling with your very own pet.
