Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is the newest release from developer Owlcat Games. Throughout the game’s many locations there are many situations that may surprise you. Any unsuspecting area is potentially a place for a tough fight to occur, so it’s always best to be prepared. The Market Square Basement is a perfect example of this, and we’ve put together this small guide to help you out.
Entering the Market Square Basement
Market Square is a location in Kenabres, a rundown location with tons of secrets to uncover. It’s also a location that’s home to a few tough encounters for those that travel unprepared. So make sure your party is fully healed and ready for whatever may attack you. The Basement in Market Square can be located inside a dilapidated house found in the top-left section of the map. It’s pretty hard to miss, just lookout for a large building with a broken door.
What you’ll find inside
After entering the house, proceed through it to enter the cellar, and you’ll find yourself inside the basement. Though you won’t have much to do at first glance since there’s only a small space to explore. First, take notice of the blockage in the south-west corner of the room. But don’t touch it if you don’t want to take damage from an invisible enemy. Before we can remove the rubble we’ll have to take care of whoever’s stopping us. Examining the body in the center of the room will let you know that the person was caught off-guard and quickly killed. Examine the body to find a Scroll of See Invisibility, and prepare for a fight.
Fighting the Shadow Demon
When you’re ready to fight, use the Scroll of See Invisibility to reveal a Shadow Demon lurking next to a wall opposite the corpse. The tricky part to this fight is that the Demon is Incorporeal, meaning that only magic weapons will do any damage. But the fight isn’t too bad as long as you can target its weakness to Force spells, since it also has resistance against most magic types.
Once you’ve beaten the Shadow Demon you’ll be able to clear away the rubble in the south-west corner. Revealing a hidden room with a chest full of loot that is now yours.
