Just Cause 4 Operation Thunderbarge Walkthrough

Operation Thunderbarge begins on the river where you are attempting to infiltrate Zone 2. Follow the helpful prompts down the river and you will quickly encounter resistance from the Black Hand. While hostiles will be firing at you from bridges overhanging the river, they will also send boats to interdict you.

Shoot your way past the first few groups of hostiles and keep an eye out for mines. There will be a thick minefield cover the length of the river, but you can shoot them out of your way. Keep moving until you reach the lock. You can’t bust through the giant doors, so you’ll need to get out of Thunderbarge and unlock the doors from inside the base.

The Lock

To open the lock, you’ll need to kill both the generators. Each generator is on the roof of the lock with one generator on each side of the river. You don’t need to clear the entire area, just hustle to each generator, grappling hook the cover off, and destroy the generator with your weapons fire.

After you kill both generators the lock door will open and you can return to Thunderbarge. The doors won’t pop open; you’ll need to ram your way through but the doors will give easily once the generators are down. From there, navigate the river until you come to the waterfall. Jump the boat off the falls and follow the waypoints all the way to Zona Dos.

Zona Dos

Once you reach Zona Dos, you’ll need to clear out the three giant lightning rods in order to neutralize the core. In other words, time to get out of the boat again. To destroy each lighting rod, you’ll need to destroy the two power cells. Each lightning rod will have one of these rotating orange power cells on each fo their sides; destroy both to disable the lightning rod.

Once all three lightning rods are down, its time to take out the three magnetic locks. Follow your waypoints to each of the three locks and destroy the glowing orange piece. Each destroyed lock will unleash more lightning strikes, so be careful. Once the three locks are destroyed, the entire facility will crumble. You get another cut scene before the mission wraps up.
