Installing Server Files

To start, you will need to grab the files for the game. You can do that via SteamCMD. You can download SteamCMD here.

Once SteamCMD is up and running, run this command, which we have bolded:

steamcmd +login anonymous +force_install_dir C:\atlasserver +app_update 1006030 validate +exit

You can adjust the +force_install_dir paramter to the directory you want to download the server to. By doing this, you will then download the entire game. Once completed, you will then need to set up your server configuration.

Server Configuration

Your best bet for a self-hosted server is through the provided .batch file. Inside the pixarkserver\folder where you have downloaded all files for Atlas, create a new .bat file. You can call it anything, like start.bat.

Inside the new .bat file enter the following, which we have bolded:

start /high C:\ATLAS\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64\ShooterGameServer.exe Ocean?ServerX=0?ServerY=0?AltSaveDirectoryName=00?ServerAdminPassword=123?MaxPlayers=125?ReservedPlayerSlots=25?QueryPort=57561?Port=5761?SeamlessIP=142.44.143.158 -log -server -NoBattlEye

You can alter the parameters as you like. For example, tweak the total number of players by adjust MaxPlayers from the default of 125. You will want to change your server password for obvious reasons.

Finally, you will need to set up the official grid tool, ServerGridEditor. You can get it here. (Press Download, then Download Zip)

Open the tool and begin configuring your server as you like. Under projects, you will find two templates you are welcome to use.

Running your Atlas Server

To change the name of your server, merely go to edit project. The field “Friendly Name” is what people will see your server named as. You can set a password in the Atlas Password field in the edit project section.

Please note some port-forwarding may be required, by default the server will use port 7777 and 27015, each servergrid uses unique ports and runs a seperate process! you should unblock these port in your firewall\router.
