The Bident, also known as the Spear of Hades, is a powerful mid to late game spear. While it is outclassed by some other legendary weapons, its ability to control a crowd makes it stand out. The bonuses to Warrior damage is fairly standard, as is the CRIT damage. While the always-popular Poseidon’s Trident offers an extra +5% CRIT Damage, this spear’s unique ability distinguishes itself from the Trident and other spears.

Hades Bident is a Level 46 weapon, intended as a late game spear. While you need to of a higher level to use the weapon, you can actually unlock it very early in the game if you don’t mind deviating from the main story. Unlock most legendary weapons in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the Bident isn’t tied to either a mission or a mercenary. Instead, it is located in a legendary chest in Messinia. If you are careful, you can nab this spear even though you aren’t powerful enough to fight your way through the fort.

The bident is in one of the two treasure chests in Ithome Fort. Ithhome Fort is located in the mid-western part of Messania. It is to the north and east of Hades Bay. You can reach the Fort itself without much resistance, if any.The fort itself is a medium-sized structure with several hostiles constantly on patrol. There are two treasure chests in the fort which you can identify using your bird friend. The bident will be in one of them. If you are careful, you can make your way to Hades Bident with limited fighting needed.

The spear itself gives you long range in in which you can deal damage, and the amount of damage available is nothing to sneeze at. For starts, the +15% Warrior Damage is tied for the large bonus to Warrior Damage of any spear in the game. Couple with that the +20% CRIT Damage an you have a weapon that is build for fighting your way out of tight spots. While these perks are great, what really makes this spear stand out is its unique perk, a +20% bonus to damage dealt by the Ring of Chaos attribute.

Ring of Chaos

One of the things that makes this weapon great is that it provides a bonus to a very useful ability, Ring of Chaos. Even without bonuses, Ring of Chaos is the best crowd control ability available. When activated, the ability fires off a shockwave that stuns and wounds the enemies within close vicinity to you. It is inherently powerful enough to kill weaker opponents and weaken bigger foes.

With Hades’s Bident, that ability gets boosted by a hefty +20%. Between the powerful stats and the beefed up Ring of Chaos ability, this weapon is one of our favorite crowd control weapons as well as one of the best spears in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
