Fans of Until Dawn have been long-awaiting the next creation from Supermassive Games. This eerie interactive drama is expected to have the same twists and turns as the studio’s previous title. It’s hard to make an interactive drama that is both gripping and a decent length, so how long is Man of Medan?

Recently the game’s director, Tom Heaton, let fans know how long they can expect the game to be. Heaton said in an interview, “The play time is four to five hours. It’s probably closer to the five hour mark. That’s a good length for a branching-narrative story. It means the narrative doesn’t get too long. It’s longer than a film, but games have a different kind of pacing.”
It seems you’ll be able to spend a lot of time exploring the area, characters, and of course digging into the secret of the Manchurian Gold. For reference, Until Dawn took approximately 8 hours to beat. While Man of Medan is a bit shorter, Heaton says that the game has a lot of replayability. Because characters can die throughout the game, each ending could vary quite a bit. Some outlets are reporting that a completionist playthrough of the game could take between 10 and 15 hours. Heaton also hints at secret content to find, so you can expect to do a lot of digging to find everything this game has to offer.
Man of Medan releases August 30th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Players can choose to brave the hair-raising game alone or with friends. Try the local co-op adventure in Movie Night mode or connect with a friend online and try out the Shared Story mode.
