Ghost of Tsushima – How to Sheath Sword

You can sheath your sword in Ghost of Tsushima by swiping right on the PS4 Touchpad. Easy, right? Despite the value of the touchpad, many PS4 games don’t bother using the swipe function. Not so with Ghost of Tsushima!

The touchpad does a lot of interesting things. For example, swiping up lets you intensify Guiding Wind which is a major part of the game. Swiping left allows you to play your flute, in case you were every angling for a mashup between a samurai movie and Anchorman.

Unsheathing does not require a swipe on the touchpad, which is nice. After all, adding an extra action to get into combat is lame. When you make an attack, you will also automatically unsheath your blade. Nice, right?

When to Sheath Your Blade

Sheathing your sword isn’t a major part of the game. You won’t miss out on any actions by not sheathing your sword. For example, you will automatically put your weapon away when you try to swim or ride a horse.

Thre aren’t a lot of areas in the game where walking around with an unsheathed weapon is a problem, either. Ultimately, the best use of sheathing your weapon is when you want a close-up photo of Jin unarmed.
