What is the Poison Status Effect?
Units that are poisoned take additional damage at the end of each turn. This damage continues to accrue until the status is removed. While poison damage itself is usually low, it can add up quickly. This is especially true in combat where there are other threats of damage to deal with. In higher difficulty games, a poisoned unit could be at a huge disadvantage.
How Long Does it Last?
A unit will remain poisoned either until the poison is cured or the current stage comes to an end.
Who can Inflict Poison
The mechanics for dealing poison damage in Fire Emblem Engage are simple to understand. This effect stems from a single weapon type: knives. Knives generally deal very low damage. However, successive hits with a knife will increase the odds of poisoning a target. This can make for an interesting long-term battle strategy that sacrifices damage upfront.
There are only two classes in the game capable of dealing poison damage, and one of them is an advanced class. These options are the Thief and the Wolf Knight.
Curing Characters of Poison
If you find yourself poisoned in Fire Emblem Engage, you can take some comfort in knowing that this status never lasts forever. At worst, you can count on losing your poison status at the end of your current phase. If that is not soon enough, there are items that can bring the poison status to an end. The simplest option is procuring antitoxin to remove the effect. If you happen to pick up the Restore Staff, you can also use that to cure poison.
