Multiclassing your companions is possible in Baldur’s Gate 3. In fact, you can also respect these characters as you see fit. This means you get a surprising amount of customization as you build out your party.

Multiclassing Options for Companions in Baldur’s Gate 3

You can multiclass, but is it worth it? Your mileage may vary on that one. We take a look at a few potential multiclass options for your fearless compatriots.

  • Gale: There is not a lot of reasons to multiclass Gale if you maintain their original wizard level. In classic D&D, a level of fighter would give you armor proficiencies. That’s not how it works in BG3, as you only get the proficiencies if you take fighter as your first level.
  • Astarion. Astarion can make for an excellent damage dealer when you take a few levels in Fighter or Ranger.
  • Lae’zel. Lae’zel has one one truly great multiclassing option. Arguably, it is the best combo in the game. At Champion level 3 and Berserker Barbarian 9, you crit on a 19 and can give yourself advantage on every attack. This means you will get a critical hit roughly 20 percent of the time.

Conclusion

So that’s it for our Baldur’s Gate 3 Can Companions Multiclass guide. Not only can you multiclass your companions, but you can also respect them as well. Talk about customization! What kind of multiclassing have you done in BG3? Tell us in the comment section below.
