‘MONSIEUR MAYONNAISE’ AT CINEMA NOVA
‘Monsieur Mayonnaise’ features Australian artist and film-maker Philippe Mora as he investigates his father Georges’ clandestine role in the French Resistance during World War Two and his mother Mirka’s miraculous escape en route to Auschwitz.
Philippe, a Hollywood cult-horror movie director and pop artist, adopts a Film Noir persona to travel from Los Angeles to Berlin, Paris to Melbourne, in order to uncover the epic story of his family’s secret past.
At the event director Trevor Graham, a friend of Deborah Cass, spoke with screenwriter and director Tony Ayres about how he told the Mora family story in his award-winning film.
